Florida and Alaska are the only two states that have new laws at this time. Information on these new state laws will be posted soon.

Basically, Alaska has become a Business Opportunity Registration state with very strict laws for Biz-Op sellers. The law was passed in June, 2002. It is now being enforced. It offers a LOT of protection for the buyer of a business opportunity and a lot of problems for the biz-op seller who neglects to register and comply with all the disclosure rules.

Florida only made minor changes to require disclosure of the 10 closest previous buyers and a few other minor changes. Of course, Florida laws were already pretty strict.
